Marcy

Wheatie and I have found an amazing friendship with two of the bestest people. They are UT Longhorn fans so we can't go wrong !!

Marcy celebrated her 60th birthday this past weekend and we were privileged to be a part of it !

Love this girl - she is the true meaning of FUN !!

 Greg and Marcy

Natalie - one of the kiddos - she is truly the best part of her mom and dad
Marcy and her 89 year old dad
I know where she gets that energy and spunk !!

Happy 60th Marcy !!

Fenway

Meet Fenway our lastest foster furbaby. What a sweetheart. He was an owner surrender and we only had him 2 weeks before he found his FUREVER family....

Fenway's new mom - Laura and his sister Remi......

Looks like he is right at home !!

Happy Life Fenway !!

Hanging down in the Southside

The new "southside" of Fort Worth is quickly becoming the place to be. The old buildings and homes are being revitalized and it has become a favorite spot of Wheatie and mine's. This weekend, we should have rented a room - we spent so much time there.

First stop - Panther Island Brewing here ........Friday night for some brew and burgers

Headed over to Friday on the Green here

After this to The Live Oak for a nightcap -
under the Texas sky and live oak trees

Saturday, we took Sam and headed back to the south -
great people and dog friendly area
Shaw's Patio and Grill here

Sunday - back to the Live Oak here
for some Texas Music with Jason Eady and Courtney Patton

Cordial Extravaganza

Liqueur - An alcoholic beverage made from a distilled spirit that has been flavored with fruit, cream, herbs, spices, flowers or nuts and bottled with added sugar or other sweetener.

I attended a Cordial Extravaganza on Sunday along with my good friend Marcy. The event was held at another of our friends home, and Susan was the maker of all the "liqueurs" that we tasted. Susan has been making them since October.

Quite the event, I assure you. There were ladies in hats, heels and dresses. There was plenty of "foo-foo" food and a good time was had by all.

There was spiced peach wine, rose water and geranium wine, amaretto (actually Wheatie's recipe) Kahula, Chamomile wine, blueberry cordial, cranberry cordial, asage spice wine, raspberry champagne, orange mint wine.......if you could dream it up, it was there....

Arugula sandwiches, salmon, pecan/cream cheese sandwiches, salmon with anchovies, deviled eggs,
brie cheese along with stuff I can not even pronounce.

Marcy - this girl rocks.......

Number 10

Wheatie and I began fostering dogs in January 2014. I can not tell you how rewarding it has been. Fostering keeps dogs out of shelters, off the street and gives them a safe, loving place until their FUREVER home can be found.

We work with an amazing pet rescue Parker Paws here. Check them out and see what a great job at rescuing dogs and cats is all about. You might even want to consider fostering yourself.

We hit a milestone with our newest furbaby....here are our 10 foster furbabies

Spring Break 2015

I am back at work today after a week (plus) off. I need another week to recover.

I was so very lucky to spend time with my kiddos and those UH-AMAZING grand angels !!

A trip to Maryland was so much fun.

Snow on the ground when we arrived

Wheatie and Annabelle share birthdays and we were lucky, lucky to get to spend it with her !!

AB also got her "Frozen" themed birthday - at no other than a creamery. Of course, Elsa and Anna made an grand appearance and this girl could not have been more happy !!

We got to see lots of family and make some fun, fun memories !!

Made Buddy's basketball game and AB's gym practice....special indeed

Jaycee and Cody came and spent the end of the week with us.
First stop (10 hours!)  Six Flags.....

While Wheatie had to work on Friday, the kids and I went to Pump it Up and finished off the week with a movie "SpongeBob"

There is a reason I live in Texas. There is a reason I chose not to live in cold winter states....but the last two winters IN TEXAS are proving to wear on my last nerve......

No life in site, for miles and miles and miles

The only pretty side of winter

Last year, we had a span of winter weather and I am talking ICE people, not pretty, let's play in it, snow...I am talking ICE for over 2 weeks that crippled the state. We don't have the trucks, and the plows nor the common sense to adjust. Cold, ok.....rainy, ok.....but this "wintry mix" has got to stop!

Businesses shut down, schools let out early (or don't even start), the stores are jammed packed with people buying enough food to last till the end of time...the MAIL IS NOT EVEN DELIVERED !

Work parking lot - AFTER I get to work

There is a slippery sidewalk under there

This past week, has once again proved to be more than I can handle.....be it all very pretty - to LOOK at- but not to drive in, not to walk to the mailbox (not knowing there was no mail to GET!) not to even enjoy.

Even my poor dogs can't go out and take care of business without falling - it was the highlight of my day.

Sam and Peanut

The only good thing is that I have cleaned out closets, china cabinets, kitchen drawers (now Wheatie won't be able to find anything) laundry is caught up, DVR'd shows are caught up..

Even Sam was reduced to watching TV

I am ready to hit the beach for some warm sun and fun !!
