All Balls

All Balls

Miss Willow

My number 11 foster furbaby. She came to us with the name VIDA - not sure what the shelter was thinking - but that name did not sit well with me. I started looking at names - and WILLOW hit me like a red headed step child. It fit her well....

She was a cutie. So loving and funny. She tried her best to play with Sam and Cappy - they would have nothing to do with her. But Peanut, he jumped in with all fours.

Willow has found her FUREVER home with Ashley and Will in Missouri. Ashley is the daughter of our very good friends. I knew it was meant to be.

Even a 650 miles, round trip - couldn't stop us.

This girl LOVED her ball - took it with her everywhere

Sam wouldn't play with her, but they napped together

It was a very long trip !!

Lions, tigers and bears, OH MY !!

Wheatie and I made it out to the BEASTRO at the Fort Worth Zoo. It is an annual event, where 50 plus restaurants come together to show off their goodies. The event is held inside the zoo. The animals are out (at least some of them) and you are get to sample food from each of the restaurants. All the food and drink you can mustard.

I am still full. It was fun and I started off trying to take pictures, but then decided it was to hard to juggle my food, drink my beer (you could also get wine) walk and talk at the same time.
It was fun and I look forward to next year !!

Running of the Roses

We were privileged to be a part of the first ANNUAL Kentucky Derby party at Marcy and Greg's.....

Marcy

Wheatie and I have found an amazing friendship with two of the bestest people. They are UT Longhorn fans so we can't go wrong !!

Marcy celebrated her 60th birthday this past weekend and we were privileged to be a part of it !

Love this girl - she is the true meaning of FUN !!

Happy 60th Marcy !!

Fenway

Meet Fenway our lastest foster furbaby. What a sweetheart. He was an owner surrender and we only had him 2 weeks before he found his FUREVER family....

Fenway's new mom - Laura and his sister Remi......

Looks like he is right at home !!

Happy Life Fenway !!

Hanging down in the Southside

The new "southside" of Fort Worth is quickly becoming the place to be. The old buildings and homes are being revitalized and it has become a favorite spot of Wheatie and mine's. This weekend, we should have rented a room - we spent so much time there.

First stop - Panther Island Brewing here ........Friday night for some brew and burgers

Headed over to Friday on the Green here

After this to The Live Oak for a nightcap -
under the Texas sky and live oak trees

Saturday, we took Sam and headed back to the south -
great people and dog friendly area
Shaw's Patio and Grill here

Sunday - back to the Live Oak here
for some Texas Music with Jason Eady and Courtney Patton

Cordial Extravaganza

Liqueur - An alcoholic beverage made from a distilled spirit that has been flavored with fruit, cream, herbs, spices, flowers or nuts and bottled with added sugar or other sweetener.

I attended a Cordial Extravaganza on Sunday along with my good friend Marcy. The event was held at another of our friends home, and Susan was the maker of all the "liqueurs" that we tasted. Susan has been making them since October.

Quite the event, I assure you. There were ladies in hats, heels and dresses. There was plenty of "foo-foo" food and a good time was had by all.

There was spiced peach wine, rose water and geranium wine, amaretto (actually Wheatie's recipe) Kahula, Chamomile wine, blueberry cordial, cranberry cordial, asage spice wine, raspberry champagne, orange mint wine.......if you could dream it up, it was there....

Arugula sandwiches, salmon, pecan/cream cheese sandwiches, salmon with anchovies, deviled eggs,
brie cheese along with stuff I can not even pronounce.

Marcy - this girl rocks.......

Number 10

Wheatie and I began fostering dogs in January 2014. I can not tell you how rewarding it has been. Fostering keeps dogs out of shelters, off the street and gives them a safe, loving place until their FUREVER home can be found.

We work with an amazing pet rescue Parker Paws here. Check them out and see what a great job at rescuing dogs and cats is all about. You might even want to consider fostering yourself.

We hit a milestone with our newest furbaby....here are our 10 foster furbabies
