Moving on UP

Unfortunately our kids and grandkids don't live close. They both decided to move away - so Wheatie and I don't get to be a part of their lives like we had dreamed our "grand parenting" times would be.
We do love to camp and in order to see family - we have to travel. So one thing we decided was to combine the two. We took a small step toward retirement and purchased an upgrade to our camper.
Maybe, God willing and the creek don't rise, we will be able to travel in style to visit the kids.......
it seems our only option to be at least a small part of their lives........

We took our first trip just to a close by state park and it was GREAT

Our furbabies are able to come along and everyone is cozy and comfortable.....

Our second adventure (so far) was to the 28th annual Larry Joe Taylor Music Festival

Corey

Corey is my April baby - Wheatie and I couldn't be proud of the man he has become. He is an awesome, brother, son, dad and husband!! You rock Corey !! Happy Birthday.....

March Madness

Going to visit with Corey in March is kinda of a big deal. We always get to celebrate Wheatie, aka POPS and Annabelle's birthday's, not to mention I get to be with my family. This year, Chad and family joined us so it was EXTRA EXTRA special to have everyone together. It;s a rare thing for me and Wheatie......

March Birthday Babies

Wheatie aka POPS and Annabelle share a very special bond...they both have the same birthday! Pops could not be more proud of his youngest grand angel. Miss AB turned 7 this  year and Pops - well, we won't disclose that.....

February Birthdays

As has become somewhat of a tradition, we meet with Chad, Jennifer, Jaycee and Cody in Austin to celebrate Chad's birthday (38 !) and Jaycee's (13)...wow - how time flies....

We started with dinner at the amazing Oasis on Lake Travis in Austin. The is one of the most amazing restaurants in the area. Breathtaking views and GREAT food !

Saturday we made the home opener for the UT Longhorn baseball team.....turned out to be win number 800 for Coach Augie and we were there !! Congrats to the longhorns !!

Magnolia Market

HGTV's - #FixerUpper, based out of Waco, Texas. Love that show and this past weekend Wheatie and I headed south to check out their store......

It was CRAZY...obviously Saturday is the worse day to visit, but when you work, it is your only day. The line was out the door, down the steps, around a loop, out the gate, down the street and around the block.........

Once inside, I was not totally blown away. You literally had to walk sideways, wait your turn to look at an item and wait patiently to check out. The staff was amazing, very knowledgable and attentive. Most of the things inside are mass produced and a bit out of my price range. Joanna and Chip Gaines are living the dream !!

Nonetheless - I am glad we went. We visited the orginal market place - they have surely improved on location and size. We will be heading back south in a few weeks and plan on stopping by and looking at the B&B in McGregor.

\Everything that I went to buy was "sold out"...I only got home with 2 t-shirts.....

We visited the Harp Design wood company where Joanna gets alot of things made for her redesigns. 

Then we headed over to #Jake'sTeaHouse for lunch....what a great family restaurant !! Great food, great service, fun atmosphere and some really, really good Peach Raspberry cobbler.....
