T.G.I.F...

I am so glad Friday is finally here. I was off Monday - and I don't understand how a 4day work week seems longer than a 5....go figure.

We had sad news earlier this week. A really good friend of my husbands died suddenly Tuesday of a massive heart attack. He was 50. Life is so precious and it makes you stop and think that in a blink of an eye - everything changes. Wheatie has taken Jim's death pretty hard. They just shared a beer and talked of an upcoming event they were doing together the week before. Today is his memorial and Wheatie will be speaking. He will speak from the heart and with alot of love.
Prayers to all those who have heavy hearts today. Take a minute and tell your loved ones what they mean....

On a brighter note - I got a package in the mail - ME - a package - I was like a little kid in a candy store. I was so excited and what made it even better - it came from Jaxson and Annabelle - two of my grandangels.....

It had the coolest cross made out of burlap, an "I Love You" lima bean pot and 2 really cute, handcrafted Easter cards. It made my day so much better.

The cross now adorns my front door....

And I planted the I LoveYou beans......I will keep you updated on the growing process

Today is also Good Friday :

"Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, commemorates the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross. Good Friday is the second of the three days of the Easter Triduum."

I gave up diet cokes for Lent, and it was hard and seems so insignificant. I am a coke addict - but I have found that I can do without. Seems very small in the light of what God gave up for us. It did make me stop and think each time I wanted one - and it helped me to realize I am glad to be a Christian. I am thankful for all the wonderful things I have had and have at present. I am thankful for all the love I share and the family and friends that are in my life.

As Easter approaches on Sunday - "God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son", say your prayers and love those that you would be willing to die for.

Wishing all a Happy Easter and blessed life!!

A delayed birthday trip...

Wheatie turned the BIG 6-0 earlier in March - and this was a delayed birthday trip. In the next several - probably more like 5 years - we plan on moving farther south in this great state of TEXAS. This past weekend we traveled down to the coast to scope things out..

We saw the first signs of spring in Texas - our bluebonnets

Along the way - we timed it just right and got to see grandangelson -
Cody, at his first baseball game of the year.
I love baseball - big or small - and this was a great game.
They lost 8-6 - but played with all their might!!

Dad and son - what a great team

These are the coolest - WIND FARMS.....

We stayed at The Lighthouse Inn.....LOVED IT!!!
Our room opened right onto the bay -

We ate ALOT of good seafood and every place came with a view....

On the way home we made a lunch stop at one of the more famous bar-b-q places in Lockhart,Texas

Smitty's.....no plates, no untensils....the waitress said "Just dig in".....so we did
