Play Ball !!

It’s that time of year again – BASEBALL – I LOVE BASEBALL (actually you know I love ALL sports) – but I really, really love baseball. I love the Texas Rangers and today is their home opener.
I won’t be at the game today - not in person - but in spirit ! I will be watching and listening via the internet.
Today marks the 20 year anniversary of the ballpark - Ranger STadium, The Ballpark In Arlington and now Globe Life Park in Arlington - doesn't matter what they call it - it is home to the TEXAS RANGERS, my baseball team, my baseball town!!
Here we go Rangers, Here we go!!!

Our foster furbaby - Kyla. What a sweet girl!! We got her last week from the shelter - she came in as a stray. She will be staying with for this week and ready for adoption come this Saturday. This has proved to be so much fun and makes my heart so happy that this sweet animals are finding forever homes!!!
She is about 3 yrs - a beagle/heeler mix

She is very loving and already a little jealous when Sam gets attention

She has made herself right at home!!

Before Kyla - we had a one night house guest - Mocha
She was ready for adoption - but her foster mom was out of town
She came to spend the night with us and after only 5 minutes at Petsmart, she was adopted !!

She had no trouble getting right in with Sam

This was her "toy" - bigger than her!!

She went to her forever home with the sweetest little girl that was so excited!
Happy life Mocha !!

"On the days when we're running off in different directions
and those days when we manage to get a little time to our ourselves.....

On the nights when we're snuggled close
and on those when one or both of us fall asleep in front of the TV.......

On the weekends when we're hanging out and relaxing side by side
or when we're running around trying to get to all the things we put off during the week....

On the good days and busy ones,
in stressed times and down times....

I love you

and this crazy life we share......"

Odie's Forever Home

Our first foster furbaby has gone to his forever home.........Meet his new parents - Kathy and Michael....he is one lucky dog !!

Lock, Stock and Barrel

For the last 118 years, The Fort Worth Show and Rodeo has come to town. It's the oldest indoor rodeo in the state. It never fails to be the best.

I love going to the rodeo and for the last 2 years, my younger brother and wife - along with others have made it. I think it is now consider an annual event.

Darla, Diane, Bill and Cayla

Gotta wear your Stetson to the rodeo..
The Grand Entry

Always a moving experience.....our national anthem

Foster Parents

That's right, Wheatie and I became FOSTER PARENTS this past week. Got our first "fosters" last Weds., Corky and Willow. Cute names, huh?

Before you go - WHAT WHAT....we ARE foster parents, but to the furbaby kind. I LOVE ANIMALS...always have, always will. They have unconditional love for you, are always happy to see you, and you can depend on them to listen to your every word.

MEET CORKY AND WILLOW: (actually they are ours to keep)

They are brother and sister - about a year old. Corky - the male (gray and white) seems to have allergies and always has a little runny nose. When he was put up for adoption, everyone thought he was sick and could not get adopted. Willow - his sister is very shy. She didn't make a good candidate either for adoption. So we took them as barn cats. THEY LOVE IT.....Willow's foster mom told us she is quiet the hunter - so she should have plenty to keep her busy. They have a great place to live in the barn and have even managed to make friends with our horse REBEL.....I am sure they think he is a mighty big dog!!

Then this past Saturday, we got our first true foster fur baby - Taco - aka Odie. He was found as a stray and later it was determined that apparently his owner had died and he was just let lose. How cruel for him. When he was rescued, he was named Taco. As more was found out about him and after a talk to the vet (at least he had tags) his real name turned out to be Odie. He is so sweet and lovable. Our girls, Sam and Cappy are great big sisters. He has fit right in. He already has a application to be adopted.....and should be ready to go Feb. 1

Wheatie was a little concerned when I brought the whole foster thing up. He knows I tend to make a pet out of everything that wanders onto our land. But these furbabies will go to good homes and that will make me very happy. Being a foster parent keeps them out of the shelter and provides some much needed love and care until their forever home can be found.
I think we made a great decision !!

Haven't "LINKED" up in while - so that I would join in with the ladies above.....

1. If I could make anything grow on trees, it would be…
WOW - guess the logical answer would be money - money doesn't buy happiness - but it sure can't hurt!!  I would use it to find a cure for awful diseases and end the war. I, of course, would share with my family and friends!!

2. I can’t stop smiling…
When I think of my GRANDANGELS - they bring me such joy - sometimes they are so silly and I love having memories of us laughing together.

3. I can get back to nature by .......
Walking ! Since my surgery I walk a lot - not always outside - that's a special treat. I love the alone thinking time. I love being outdoors with my family - God's world is a beautiful place!!

4. I dread washing........
Clothes - because then you have to dry them, then you have to fold them, then you have to put them away!!

Link up with us at Three 31 Blog today!!!! stop smiling…
