High 5 for Friday

Spring Break.......yes! It has been a great week. We started the week with a trip to Maryland to visit with Corey and family. We celebrated Pops and Annabelle's birthday, went to Washington D.C., National Zoo, downtown Frederick and lots of family get togethers.....pictures are worth a thousand words!

1. Washington D.C. -
Cartwheels on the capital lawn....

We did our part "holding up the government"....

Korean War Memorial....very moving, life size soldiers......

Vietnam Memorial....gave me chill bumps to walk by the thousand and thousand and thousand of names.

The Lincoln Memorial....I opted to babysit the stroller....that's a LOT of steps.....

The White House..........

Annabelle, Jaxson and Gracie

Finally....FOOD. We ate the EBBITT GRILL. A must do in Washington, D.C.
Great food, landmark building and good company.....

The end to an amazing day. We walked for 6+ hours....I just knew we had done, oh let's say 15-20 miles.............when Corey mapped out our route..it was a -
are you ready??????......
5.9 miles.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

The WHOONS (Wheat +Coon)

2. Our next adventure was to celebrate Pops and Annabelle's birthdays.
Pops is one proud grandpa to share a birthday with his youngest grandaughter !!

It is always very special for us to be able to spend birthday's with our g-babies.

Love you Annabelle...Happy Birthday baby girl!!

Miss Belle turned the big 3 and Pops turned the big.......

The day ended with a campfire........

3. The National Zoo....our number one mission here....see the PANDA'S....
we came, we saw, we left.
I have to say I was a little disappointed in the zoo. It is small compared to our local zoo.

4. We did downtown Frederick the morning before we left. It is a neat little town with lots of shopping and eatery.

5. We were a little early for the full blown Cherry Blossoms...we did see some beginning to bloom......they smell wonderful!!

All in all - a great trip.
Love spending time with Corey, Robyn, Jaxson and Annabelle.....
Thanks to Robyn for putting together a GREAT agenda......it was fun.
Can't wait to see you guys again....
Much love..

Pinning Weds...H5F...on a Thursday

Hmmmmmm Hmmmmmmmmmm

I was so buys at work yesterday - I didn't have time to do my WEDNESDAY PINNING.....didn't even get a chance to look at PINTEREST. Can you believe? Tomorrow we will be in flight and I probably won't have time to do my High Five for Friday....so I am doing a Thursday......something.....

I did have time to look at Pinterest - and these are only a few things I discovered...

Ha ha ha! @Pam Virgin-Wright I stop by Sonic every morning on my to work. My husband and I never go on a road trip, or even a trip to Wal-Mart without getting "a drink"....this is great and oh so true.

Wow....would I love to have a pantry like this.......
wonder if I could add this to my husband's "honey do" list....organization

;)
 OMG..this is my life in general..did I.., yeah, I did, didn't I....I forgot - what?? Should I check, nah, I did - I think.....
My H5Friday will definately be our trip to visit with our youngest son, Corey and family. Next week is spring break for me and I am looking forward to some "ME" time......
Have a great FRiDaY !!

God's beauty is amazing...

Somedays, my job almost becomes too much. It is either a sllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooow day - or one so busy I look up and it is time to go home. IF if rains, it always pours. On my ride home yesterday, this was what I got to look at. It made me take a deep breath and realize I am blessed person. I have a job, an amazing husband, beautiful sons and their families, friends there for me when I need them and above all else,

God's strength to get me through the rough times
....If he brings you to it, he will bring you through it.

HiGh FiVe FoR FRiDay.....

WOW....Friday again...it just doesn't roll around quick enough. I was even off work Monday - a 4 day work week, but it feels like more. We visited my oldest son, Chad and family this past weekend. It was a busy, but fun weekend.

First thing Saturday morning, was goat feeding time.
Harley and Charley (dont know which is which, don't think they do either)
They are pretty cute .....

We celebrated Jaycee's birthday (my oldest grandaughter). She turned 9 annd wanted to celebrate with a CUPCAKE theme party...I was all in for that.......

Played games......even Betty (Gram's dog) joined in on the fun

Opended presents...
I say - all in all- it was a great party !!

Sunday was a very special day.
Cody was baptized and he could not have been more excited.
We were blessed to be there and share in this very special time with him.
Pops and I got him a Bible - with his name engraved on it.
Love you Cody-man !!

We left on Monday and decided to swing by Lockhart, Texas and try some of the "famous" bar-b-q at KRUEZ....a long standing tradition..
In Texas...bar-b-q is a staple. There is good bar-b-q and not so good. I am big fan of ribs (preferably pork) and sliced beef. I have eaten alot of both from many, many places.
This would not be on my list to re-visit. The prices were a little steep and I wasn't impressed with the taste.
But, at least we can - we've been there....

Happy Friday (and Texas Indepedence Day) !!

Pinning, Pinning, Pinning....

Photobucket
Again, I copied from one of my reading blogs. When did I ever time to do anything else. I have found soooooooooo many things I pinned, repinned, like, wanna do.....just not enough time in the day....

These are just a few of what I have discovered TODAY:

This family, well the girl part of the family, are cupcake eating fools.
hamburger cupcakes...i die.
We discovered HEY CUPCAKE, Austin, Texas and now everywhere I go or look, if it has a cupcake on it - I buy it. Either for me, my daughter-in-laws or grandaughters.
Are these not the cutest.....must do.
Repinned onto My stuff from etsy.com (Oh Cupcakes)

http://pinterest.com/pin/Story of this tattoo : "I got these a couple months ago for my parents who passed away when I was in high school. Its exact copies of their handwriting from birthday cards. I absolutely love them." -unknown
I am not a fan of tatoos by any means. Don't have one, don't want one. Not thrilled when I see people covered in them.  But these, these are cool. Her parents true handwriting (taken from birthday cards she recieved)
What a tribute to her parents!!

I love baseball and I love the whole meaning of this.
Baseball Cross: Everyone commits ERRORS, but His SACRIFICE will get you HOME! I want one of these!

HaPpY BiRtHdaY Jaycee...

Today is my oldest grandaughters birthday..She turns 9! Amazing how quickly time passes. I was so fortunate to spend the weekend with her (and the rest of the family).

My Jaycee
Jaycee is like a special book
For a person of some age
Like reading a beautiful story
Each time Pops and I turn the page
There's mystery and excitement
As the story begins to unfold
Sometimes laughter, sometimes tears
Then joy, as the story is told
Jaycee you bring back special memories ...
Times we lovingly recall
All the happy times we had
When your dad was very small
But above all this, there is a peace
And a deep contentment within
Knowing that a part of me
Will go on without an end

I just want to let you know
How much you mean to us
I know that I am truly blessed
With a special family
Love,
Boo and Pops

Have a great day Jaycee!!

High 5 (finally) Friday....

A busy week, but not really anything worth blogging about. I did receive my first BIRCHBOX this week and was very excited to be part of that group. I was a little disappointed in their selection of items, but I will give it time. Check it out... https://www.birchbox.com/
I learned about the BB from one of my daily reads at http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/

1. One of the least favorite and probably never use (unless I use for a Halloween costume) is DESIGNER EYELINER. These are stick on eyeliners in various shapes and forms. I'm a simple girl - I will stick with just the straight line ( boring - I know)
2. The next least favorite item was SHOWSTOPPERS. These are to help hide, conceal, whatever "something" from showing (boobies) I don't wear anything that I would need to have STOPPED, so I don't look to use these at any time.

3.Travel Puff, make-up removal...this will go great in my stand-by travel stuff. Ready to travel.....
4. VIVA LA JUICE parfume. Again, I am a simple girl. I LOVE Estee Lauder Pleasures (the original formula) and don't plan on anything more "juicy"...
5. The best for last. A tiny little JOUER pink lipstick. Now this - I like. It will be a great color for spring and I might even have to order a full size.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE !!

Happy Birthday Chad

Today my oldest Chad, turns 34 years old!
His dad and I are so proud of the man he has become.

Our son, Chad is a wonderful blessing, a treasure from above. He’s laughter, warmth and special charm; He’s thoughtfulness and love

Our son, Chad brings a special joy that comes from deep inside. And as he grows to manhood, he fills your heart with pride.

With every year that passes, he’s more special than before. Through every stage, through every age, we love him even more.

No words can describe the warm memories, the pride and gratitude, too. That comes from having a son to love and to cherish…just like you!

Love, Mom & Dad

One of my favorite times of the week is when I get to share my week. What a week it has been. All Valentine theme, all week!!
1. First hubby and I enjoyed an awesome time on Saturday at a Valentine Dinner and Dance with my bestest friend from high school and her husband, Richard and Teresa.

We had some great food, a little two-stepping and amazing fellowship with our new venture, members of the Moose Lodge.

Teresa and Richard got me the balloon and my sweet husband bought me a rose!

2. We had our first snow of the season. Well, SNOW might be a stretch, but anything white that falls from the sky in Texas - we consider SNOWFALL. Of course I had to include this picture!!

3. The cold weather and the SNOW lent itself to our first fire in the woodstove of the season. MMMMMMMMMMM...the smell of a great fire !

4. I miss all my g-babies and I got a wonderful surprise from the kiddos in Maryland. I love getting mail from my g babies - anytime and in any form !

5. My kitchen remodel. It is looking amazing. Finished the cabinets, countertop and sink. The floor had to be ordered and hopefully we can get started on that this weekend (hubby can't wait for that project!)

The east wall that looks over into the dining/living area

This is coolest, a soap dispensar built in!!

The NEW kitchen sink and counter!!
The west wall. This counter use to be an "L" shape - we straighten it out
