Here goes nuttin, honey...................

1. If you could have been (could be) any profession you wanted (brains and $$$ no problem) what would it be?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm......I love to "find", "investigate", "discover", I always use to tell my boys that I had eyes in the back of my head (shhhh - don't tell!) That being said...I would loved to be an investigator. Criminal, probably.....love to catch the bad guys.

2. How often do you clean out your car?

Every day - I HATE,HATE,HATE a dirty car. I wash it all the time, I vacuum it, I clean the dash, I do the windows! When my husband goes out of town, and leaves his car behind - I attack it too! It is the one thing I am truly OCD about....

3. Do you wish there was such a thing as fashion police or are you deeply relieved.

Ummmm, no not really. I love going to my local walmart and admiring those that are shopping. It's can fill a whole afternoon. People are who they are. They don't give a rats behind about what others think, as they shouldn't. However, there are many, many out there they obviously do not own a mirror or if they do - they never take a gander at it as they leave the house.

4. What's your go to food/drink/activity when stressed?

Peanut butter and sweet tea. I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER, and not any of the "store" brand crap. Give me some Jif Creamy....a whole jar, a spoon, thank you and a BIG OL' GLASS OF SWEET TEA...shut my mouth!!

5. If you had twins, what would you name them?

OMGosh.....I have no idea. I had a hard enough time thinking of names for my two boys. I don't like names that rhyme, I don't names that make sense. I think twins should still be allowed to be different and if you stick them with some stupid names - how will they ever be there own person?

Have a Happy Friday and a Wonderful Weekend.....

THANKFUL THURSDAY............

Today I am thankful for my many blessings and the Lord who provides those things for me.

I have a full time job and I try to write something, anything on my blog....2 - 3 times a week...now I can't seem to stop looking a Pinterest. I have "pinned" and "liked" a bjillion, trillion things. Some I have actually done, or made or whatever.....but still I look - everyday - several times a day...

These are my latest finds.....but only a few...I have many, many, MORE!!

Is this cool or what? I read yesterday that the current freshman in college have no use for a RADIO - seriously.....do they know what a BOOMBOX was or is????

This is cool..I don't have a medicine cabinet in my bathrooms...but might be a cause to put one in!!

I have a "few" purses!!

Too cute!!

What a great idea for right next to the door!!

 A classic - love it !!

Must stop...must stop......back to work !!
 Linking up today...

FINALLY...a weekend with my hubby! This is the hardest working man I know and I love him. He has worked the last 3 weekends and in those 3 weeks, been out of town twice! I have missed him and was so glad to get a whole 2 days with him.

Friday night we headed down to Magnolia St. This is in the older/hospital part of the city. They are slowly reviltalizing it and have added a number of new restaurants. So we decided we would "stroll" down the Magnolia and see where it led us.  Mother nature had a difference of opinion. It hasn't rained here in weeks, till Friday night. I am not talking about a summer shower either,  I am talking a FROG STRANGLER!!!! We did manage to find a parking place and started out at MAMMA MIA's... a little Italian/pizza place. It was very quaint and quiet and made for a much needed relaxing dinner. Mamma Mia Italian Grill & Pizza 36429325 1000034908

The rain stopped enough after dinner that we walked a few blocks and ended up at SHAW'S.
for a little music, a little sports watching, and a drink or two. Very relaxing...
Then we met up with friends at BUTTON'S

had a couple more drinks, headed to CHUBBY'S

for our last stop, finishing up with one of our favorite musicians and good friend Randy Brown.

Saturday - we hung out most of the, did those infamous "honey-do's" around the house. Saturday night we made our way over the RAILHEAD BAR B Q
My brother and his wife joined us. Great bar b q , good fmily time and great music to boot. 3Foolson3Stools

.....also good friends of ours. They are entertaining and we had a BLAST !

It was a great weekend.....but it is Monday and it is back to reality!!

3. Whipped up a batch of these little yummy cookies. So easy and so GOOD….I even licked the spoon and the BOWL when I was done.  I used the Cool Whip Version.

Easy Lemon Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1 box lemon cake mix
1 8 oz. container Cool Whip
1 egg
1 tsp. lemon extract
powdered sugar to roll the dough in
Directions:
Mix cake mix, cool whip, extract and egg in a bowl until combined. The dough will be very sticky and thick. Using a teaspoon (or melon baller) scoop dough into balls and roll in powdered sugar. Bake on parchment lined cookie sheet. 350 for 9-12 minutes. The recipe said that it yielded 42 cookies, I only got @30 - guess mine were TEXAS size.

The recipe using the oil is as follows:
Ingredients:
1 lemon cake mix
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. lemon extract
powdered sugar to roll the dough in

Directions:
Mix cake mix, oil, extract, and egg in a bowl until combined.  The dough is going to be on the thick side and very sticky.  Scoop into teaspoon size balls and roll in powdered sugar.  Bake on a parchment lined sheet at 350* for 12 minutes.
(yields 30 cookies)

4. Took all my furbabies in for their yearly check-up. All got a clean bill of health.

5. My hubby has the weekend off and we are having a date night, tonight! I am so excited, he has worked for the last three weekends and been out of town twice….I am ready for some time with my special man !

Happy Friday Ya’ll

SOFT AS A BABY'S BEHIND.....

My daughter-in-law, Robyn blogged several weeks ago about how she made her own laundry detergent. I plan on doing that as soon as I finish the LARGE bottle I just bought. Since I was out of softner sheets, I was inspired to make my own. I found this recipe on Countrified Hicks blog -  here. This girl has got it going on. She has some amazing cost cutting, fun, inventive ideas. This is her recipe for fabric softner.
Since it is just myself and hubby, this container should last us quiet awhile.

Homemade Fabric Softener

6 cups of VERY hot water            3 c. white vinegar
1 (16 oz.) bottle Suave conditioner
                              (I bought soothing lavendar lilac)
I think any brand and scent would work. It is the amount that needs to be the same.

Mix the conditioner and the hot water together and stir until the conditioner is completely dissolved.  Stir in the vinegar and mix well.  I put mine in a pitcher I bought at the dollar store ($ 1) and labeled it myself. The conditioner was on sale for .89cents. I already had the vinegar on hand. Total cost was less than $2.00
(I had to figure in the labor cost)
You could use a fabric softener bottle or whatever you have lying around the house.  Just be sure to mark the bottle accordingly. I already had a DOWNEY Ball, but if you don't have one or don't want to use one,
then just add 2 T. into your rinse cycle.

I was very pleased with the softness of the clothes and the light fragance
(can't be too bold or hubby would not like the "girly" smell)

Bad furbaby.......one of my favorite pair of TOMS.......
I still love her tho.....

I got my Etsy order from Pamela2Heaven and I couldn't be more excited or pleased. We are RV'ers.....not as much as we would like...but as much as we can. Got this cute little sign for the camper.....

Also ordered this for myself! I LOVE IT !!

I ordered this for a birthday gift...but might actually have to get one for myself!!

Pam has really amazing stuff...head on over to Etsy and check her out! All her proceeds go to raising money for underprivileged school kiddos thru her church. Paying it forward, way to go Pam!!

Photobucket Yep - it has rolled around again...YAY !

1.

It is BEEEEEEE U TEEEEE FUL and I was so excited to wear it to work. I got so many compliments…it will go with everything from that little black dress to jeans and a white tee. If you haven’t checked out her blog or shop..do it today !! http://www.lisaleonardonline.com/blog/

    2.
Found these adorable little flats at Target.

     3.
Decided to try the GEL nails....pretty cool !

 4.
On my dieting – no wait – making better choices lifestyle. I am down 22lbs and FINALLY someone mentioned it. I have been waiting for someone besides my husband to say something (don’t really think he “notices” – just knows it is the thing to do!) Funny, first they both asked, "You cut your hair?" UH, 6 weeks ago. "Hmmm, something different about you." You losing weight?" DUHHHHHHHHHHH -hello........
That little bit of encouragement goes a loooooong way to staying on track. Thank you Paula and Phil  !!!!!

5.
I booked flights for Maryland for myself, hubby, Chad and fam. Will be visiting Corey and fam and bringing in the new year ALL TOGETHER. That means I will be with all my kids and grand angels.
This is one excited BOO !

Happy Friday Ya’ll

Rural Thursday Blog Hop http://www.aruraljournal.com/p/rural-thursday-blog-hop.html/

Sooooooooooo...we live in the country. 28 years ago when we moved there we REALLY lived in the country. Now, slowly the city (and it's people) are coming to us. Couple more years - and there will be no more country around me. Sad, but then again in a couple more years - I plan to move away - far away - from the city folks. Sorry - I'm a country girl.

            I have 3 furbabies
and I think because of all the "city folks" and the things they have brought with them...noise, people, general pains in the A$$...my furbabies are hearing and seeing things they have never heard before. Over the last several months - all 3 of them - have gotten into this TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE habit of constantly wanting in and out - in and out all night long. The problem is, "their" yard is right outside our bedroom as is the door to get there. I am really tired. I need my sleep - at least more than a couple hours at a time. It is like having a human baby all over again, up and down, in and out, bark, whine, scratch....
WHAT'S A MOTHER TO DO??
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Besides the city folks and all that they have brought, this is the other reason they continually want in and out.

This is Rebel, our one last remaining horse. He loves to stand at the fence right next to their yard....he is such a tease. He stands there, eating and enjoying life, while the furbabies go nutso barking at him. I think - no I am pretty sure - he does it on purpose.

Rural life can be so exhausting......but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Linking up today with a new fav blog...come join the fun!

No specfiic topic, just write about you and make some new friends

1. I love my family. They mean the world to me. I think about them everyday!

I sent Olympics LONGHORN T-SHIRTS to everyone (because everyone lives far away)
I had to buy them online so judging sizes was a little weird. This is my youngst grandaughter..Annabelle....in her shirt. It was the smallest they had - but still too big - so Mom did a "re-make" ADORABLE isn't it?

2. I love wine...and tho it is empty calories...it's soothes the savage beast in me....

3. I love sunsets. We live in the COUNTRY and I have yet to see a bad one.

5. I love rain (and right now - I would love alot of it!)

6. I love blogging, and all the amazing wonderful new friends I have made. I blog just to blog, I haven't really gotten down all the lingo...buttons, link-ups, sponsors, giveaways...but I'm trying and appreciate all the help !

Linking up with Lauren today
FINALLY, working the early shift has made this a long week..!
  1. We have had many animals over the span of our 38+ years of marriage. At this point we are down to 3 dogs, 1 cat and 1 horse. Rebel, the horse, was born on my youngest son’s birthday in his senior year of high school. His great grandfather was Majestic Prince, a famous race horse. We, of course, had his mom and witnessed his birth.  His day consist of eating and sleeping. We don’t ride him and he doesn’t have to do any kind of work. This week, we brought in a fresh bale of hay and he was like a kid in a candy store. Simple things...

2.I ordered UT Olympic shirts for myself and the rest of my fam. They all came in and I got them all in the mail! Love this shirt !Texas Olympic Longhorns 2012 T-shirt

3.     I have reached my first goal of -20lbs. It is a slooooooooooooooow process. Why does it go on so fast, but so slow to leave!! I have been using the MYFitnessPal app and it is great! Calorie Counter
