Its Ok Thursdays

THANK GOD – it is Thursday already. Being off for 5 days last week, makes me want to retire…because I can

It’s OK….

That even tho I don’t have any small children in my house – I have an Elf on the Shelf…..Meet Maxine – cutie isn’t she??
She got in my wine cabinet!!

That I am hating the weather around here – for crying out loud – it’s gonna be 80 D*** degrees this weekend….
That I get up every morning to work out and by 8:00pm am ready for bed – but never go to bed before 10:30pm
That I wore boots yesterday – even tho it was not COLD here !!
That I am going to a Christmas party this weekend as the lamp from Christmas Story
That Wheatie is going as the box I came in ( he ehehehe ) pics to follow
That I spoil my furbabies…..they love me unconditionally
That I have a baby blanket I am crocheting – and I need to finish it ASAP
That I just bought a sweater (I know – it’s not that cold) and jeans to match – in PINK !!! Shiny Shiny Pink !!
That I have to go see a back surgeon today – only good news, only good news !!

How is your Thursday ??

One thing I wanted to be sure and do while the grandangels were here was to visit the Gaylord Texas Hotel where they have an winter wonderland of ice. Each year the theme is different and always geared toward the kids (they know how to market) The theme this year - Merry Madagascar - AMAZING. I don't think the kids really appreciate the time and effort that goes into sculpting these massive works of art...but none the less....AMAZING

The lobby offers plenty of places for pictures

Move it, Move it, Move it.....

Alex, Gloria and the gang

AN ICE SLIDE...this was too fun!!!

 Pictures with dad...always a plus.......

After we nearly froze our buns off (it's 9 degrees in there) we headed to a warm and cozy pizza place in downtown Grapevine....

.....A full day of fun, fun, fun !!!

Chillin...

Wheatie bought himself a new/used 4 wheeler. He said it was for the "grand angels"...uh,huh....sure

Fortunately for Wheatie...two of the grandangels were here and they got to ride on it.....it was fun for sure. However, I think most of the time, the 4 wheeler will be wheelin at the deer lease....

Cody
 Jaycee

We headed to the movies one day to see RISE OF THE GUARDIANS - in 3D.
A great movie. I really enjoyed it and we actually learned something.....

Do you know what happens to your baby teeth when the tooth fairy takes them.....I won't spoil it for you!!

Chillin a little .......

before heading to the Parade of Lights.......
Turkey Day

I was very thankful this year that I got to have two of my grandangels with me for Thanksgiving. They arrived Weds night and stayed until Sunday - WOOHOO !!!

Thanksgiving Day was spent at Hunter Bill's house. It's all good - because he does the big bird and I just have to bring some sides. My kind of cooking. I am always required, requested, begged, told too make my sausage balls. This is a simple, simple thing to do - and I could tell you that the recipe has been handed down for YEARS...but it would be a lie....they are just like everyone elses sausage balls. The best part is when I have a helper.....

Pictures speak a thousand words

Pops - front and center

Dwayne - not sure if he is giving me a signal or saying  hello or talking with his mouth full or....

Hunter Bill and Carebear.......paying attention....what?!?!

Turkey day wouldn't be complete without a good game of HORSE
Miss Jaycee - the winner  (they were hustled)

Of course no Turkey Day would be complete without a little football.....

I had such a great weekend...and I only have to "work" (at my job) today and then I am off the rest of the week.... WOOHOOO   !!!

Friday night we had a "date night" with one of my brother's - Bill and his wife Diane. We haven't been on a date night with another couple - in well, I can't even remember.

We decided on dinner at a local - been there forever place - called Fred's Cafe. This place has been in this spot forever...the city of concrete is quickly engulfing it - but I suppose FRED is determined to stand his ground. He has made some major improvements, but it is still a local "dive".

The range of food choices include hamburgers, mexican, seafood, to down home chili.
I opted for the street tacos, Wheatie chose the stacked enchilidas and Diane tried - for the first time "frog legs".....ewwwwwwwwwww !!

We decided after dinner - which was still early (even for us "old people") we would hop on over the
Dirty Crow for a drink.....interesting place.
We didn't stay long........
Then we thought we would try the "Martini Lounge"...
we were all new to martini's and let the bartender "pick" for us
OMGosh - a mistake.
He made us some kind of martini that tasted like pure pickle juice. BARRRRRFFFFFFFF
We were pretty much done after this - besides it was like oh - 10:00pm
...bedtime for me!
Thanks to Bill and Diane for sharing some great laughs and good times!
Love you guys!!

Saturday- I spent the entire day watching the Life Time Channel which is showing Christmas movies.
Sunday - I cleaned the house and then watched football.
We bought a four wheeler from a friend of mine and he delivered it Sunday afternoon.

Wheatie thinks he need this for his lease and well,
of course the grand angels when they come to visit....uh,huh, sure !!!

We went to dinner at Cracker Barrel,
 ran errands,
picked up a few Christmas presents
 and then headed home.
A great weekend

How was your weekend ??

WELCOME FRIENDS, and thanks for stopping by!  I'm so glad your here,...just in time for this week's It's OK Thursdays link-up, with Brunch with Amber and A Complete Waste of Makeup.

 Its Ok Thursdays

It’s O.K.
That I am in a really bad mood today – and I have no idea why
That I have a “girl’s night out planned” and wish I didn’t have to go
That I didn’t get any exercise in before work
 – perhaps the reason for my bad mood ?
That it doesn’t look like my scale is cooperating with me this week – no loss
(oh yeah - must be I am "building muscle' ?!?!?!)
That I can’t stop looking for boots – love them
That I can’t stop buying Vera Bradley – at least “most” of it was on sale…..
That I am looking forward to this weekend…..no special plans – it’s just the weekend
That I love getting in my bed at night with the electric blanket already on
That I hate getting out of my bed in the morning where the electric blanket has been on
That today isn’t Friday – already !!
How’s your Thursday?

Linking up today....

Myself and Wheatie had a GREAT weekend. We went to Austin for probably our last football tailgate  of the year. Chad, Jaycee and Cody joined us. It was an early game, so the participants were not all there – but none the less. A GREAT TIME.
Jaycee and Cody heading to the game!

We left the tailgate and headed over  to Double Dave’s to eat some really good pizza and watch the game.  The kids had a blast !

Cody cracks me up ! Love this boy !!

My beautiful Jaycee!!

After the TEXAS LONGHORN WIN...we, of course, have to go to the Co-Op for a little shopping.

Checked in the hotel. We stayed at the EMBASSY SUITES and I was impressed! This is a super nice hotel.  Of course first thing was to head to the pool. Fun Fun Fun !! These kids love the water – and went non-stop. Had to be dragged out.

The hotel offers a complimentary “HAPPY HOUR”. They had popcorn, chips, salsa, hummus, soda drinks and adult beverages.
After “snacking” we headed back up to the room for some relaxation. It was a long day so we decided to “dine-in”. Jaycee ordered the TRIPLE DECKER grilled cheese, fries and ice cream.
Cody opted for the TRIPLE DECKER PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY, also with fries and ice cream.
The big boys chose the hamburgers. The food was great – and for in-house eating – very reasonably priced.

Before hitting the sack, we had a little fun with GLOW IN THE DARK specs and skull heads.

We all hit the bed pretty early. Of course, early to bed – early to rise. The kids were up and at it by 630am. So Wheatie, myself and the kiddos headed downstairs to the complimentary breakfast. Now I am talking BREAKFAST – cooked to order eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, cereal, muffins, danishes, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee,  and juices of all kind! Back to the room for a little TV. Packed up and headed out.

I love my grand angels and I love spending time with them. It was a great weekend…..
