Diamonds Are a GIRLS best friend
I recently discovered the Diamond Candles see them here. Besides the fact that they are soy candles - each candle has a surprise in it - A diamond ring!! How cool is that? The ring is incased in the candle and of course you have to burn it long enough to get to it!!
I bought one, Cinnamon Roll, and couldn't wait to light that baby up.
It smells AWESOME......and I wanted it to burn down to that Diamond Ring !!
And it FIT!!!....I can't wait to order another.......and Christmas and Birthday and Mom's Day and just because days.....OH YEAH !!

Last I finally had burned it enough to get my ring out!! It is a silver ring with a large green stone (I think they call them Citrines) and 2 small DIAMONDS on each side. I haven't had it appraised...but it sure looks like the real deal....
It's been too long partner....
Headed south this past weekend to Austin to tailgate. Chad and his kiddos meet us along with my nephew David.
In December 1976, we left Austin, Texas....college, (THE University of Texas) was complete and it was time to move back home. While in Austin, we made some amazing friends. There were 4 couples and we did so much together. WE had some great times - and the stories we could tell....but we won't.
Thanks to the social media Facebook - one of those couples, Pat and Steve Sims, found us and we reconnected. How freakin cool is that.....37years later and we find each other.
We made plans to meetup. Turns our their tailgate site is less than 100 yards from ours. All this time, we were so close, yet so far away.
It was like we never had been apart. WE started right where we left off, with a few additions. WE are all grandparents now, ONE of us is retired (lucky Pat) and the rest are getting close. It was so good to see them and look forward to staying connected. Austin and Aledo are only 3 hours apart....too close not to stay connected

We had so much fun with Chad, the kids and David. No trip anywhere near Austin would be complete without a stop by the bestest cupcake in the whole world,
HEY CUPCAKE !!
Good times, family, friends, football,
pizza and beer......

HaPpY bIrTHday Buddy!!!
Today is Jaxson's birthday #7. He is one of my prince grandangels. Today is a significant day in so many ways...but for this family it was and is a blessing.
Jaxson is so true to himself. He is our "Buddy".
He is smart,
he is funny,
lovable, thoughtful, stubborn,
cute as a button
AND is currently taking BREAK DANCING LESSONS....got love it!! When I asked him what he wanted Boo and Pops to give him for his birthday - he said he wanted to take the breakdancing classes. So that is what we did.
He had his first lesson this past Saturday - Said he had a BLAST - which, knowing Jaxson - he did.

He loves life and as young as he is....lives it to the fullest.

It's that time again....football season - I LOVE FOOTBALL - college and pros. I whole heartily support The University of Texas Longhorns and da boys - the Dallas Cowboys.
Football - in Texas - is THE thing to do!!! I didn't grow up watching football - I think it just comes naturally to me. I attended my high school games, We (because Wheatie and I were married) attended UT games, my boys played starting at a young age (and continue to be the "arm chair quarterback" and love the game) we have been to pro games......FOOTBALL - it is GRAND.
Every year, I outfit all my kids and grandangels with the appropriate shirts.....UT and Cowboys. It's just one of those things.....
This year Wheatie and I hope to make some Aledo home games. Haven't been able to do that in many years and it will be good to get back to high school football. Might even venture into 6 man football......
College started this past weekend and the Longhorns opened up a can of WHOOP A** on the New Mexico State. In two weeks - we are traveling to Austin to tailgate with 50,000 of our closet friends.
The Dallas Cowboys open up their season against the NY Giants, at home on Sunday. Statistics are not good that they will win ( they have lost all 4 home games against the Giants) but HEY (as Si would say) there is a first time for everything.

So - game face ON......let's get ready for some football.

This is the way we go to school, go to school, go to school......
Another school year - for me and my 4 grandangels. I am begining my 26th year. Typically the first day of school for me is ALOT of phone calls from - ummmmm - PARENTS that I wonder how they get up in the morning and start their day. Parents that call our security at 3AM in the morning asking about where their child cathes the bus. Parents that call and asking WHICH school their child should attend. Parents that wait until TODAY to find out their kids needs immunizations. Parents that call me and want to know what is on the lunch at their child's school. Parents that call because they can't get their 1st grader out of bed, they would like for someone to come and help. Parents that don't know today is the first day of school...........I could go on and on and on....but I won't - wait - my phone is ringing now.
Jaycee - my oldest princess begins her day today as a 5th grader - hard to believe she is growing up so fast.
Cody - my oldest prince begins his day as a 3rd grader - his teachers better look out - Cody can outsmart the smartest !!
And last - but never, ever the least - my youngest princess - Annabelle - the pre schooler!!
On a MUCH, MUCH brighter note - MY GRANDANGELS - are all in school.
